Did You Feel the Earthquake? West Bloomfield Residents Chime in on Facebook, Twitter
An earthquake in Virginia could be felt all the way in Michigan.
An earthquake Tuesday afternoon left some West Bloomfield residents feeling all shook up.
People as far away as Toronto, Ohio and Michigan could feel the 5.9-magnitude earthquake, which was centered 27 miles east of Charlottesville, VA.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at a depth of 3.7 miles, accounting for Americans hundreds of miles away being able to feel its tremors. Several people commented on Facebook and Twitter that they could feel the tremors in Michigan.
On Facebook, Nancy Perkins wrote that she felt the earthquake in the White Lake/Waterford area. "I knew what it was because many years ago there was an Earthquake in Kentucky and we felt it here in Oakland County," Perkins wrote.

On Twitter, @reagandavis and @coco6975 reported feeling the quake in West Bloomfield.
"At 15 mile & orchard lk rd. My office chair shook back & forth & water in my bottle sloshed. Thought crzy but others felt too!" @reagandavis Tweeted.
