Updated: 7:53 p.m.

Reports of a possible power outage in the Orchard Lake and Pine Lake area dotted the DTE Energy Outage Map on Thursday afternoon.

The area outage was reported just before 4 p.m. for approximately 7,700 DTE Energy customers, slowing down traffic and closing some businesses down for the day. DTE Energy spokesman Len Singer said that the outage was caused by faults in the system as a result of a wire which struck a high-voltage cable.

The National Weather Service predicts low temperatures of 18 degrees and a 50 percent chance of snow, mainly after 2 a.m. Your Friday morning commute could be wet and cold, with a wintry mix of rain and snow in the forecast and a high of 33 degrees.
