Wednesday is here and you have finally made it half-way through the first week of the New Year. Let's do something fun and look ahead at what will be going on in and around town. On Friday, we will compile a list to help you plan your weekend.
So far this week we've discussed:
Our pick for today:
When: Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Why go: begins their Israeli film series this weekend with a showing of I Love You Rosa. The 1972 Academy Award nominated film was directed by Moshé Mizrahi. The film is a romantic drama that tells the story of a young 11 year old boy who according to the Jewish tradition of yibum (Levirate marriage), must marry his brother's spouse on the death of his brother. Rosa, who is the widow, is not interested in remarriage or child-rearing. But as time passes a love story unfolds. Afterwards enjoy a presentation by Professor Howard Lupovitch who will also lead an interactive discussion.
Check back in with the West Bloomfield Patch tomorrow for more weekend-things-to-do options.
