Fundraiser: Camp KAT Family Fun Day

  • When: 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday
  • Where: Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit
  • Cost: $25 in advance; $30 at the door; $180 for a family pass
  • Why Go: Camp Kids All Together (KAT) will be raising money Sunday for children with special needs by hosting a family fun day at the JCC. The day will include a kosher lunch from Jerusalem Pizza, inflatable bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, Lego projects from Birmingham's Robot Garage, face painting, a DJ, clowns, a magic show and more. Kids: Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

  • When: 2 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: West Bloomfield Township Library
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: It’s Dr. Seuss’ birthday and we’re ready to celebrate! Come join us for games, songs, and crafts to celebrate this classic children’s author’s birthday! Recommended for kids ages 3-8. For more information, 248-232-2250.

Volunteer: Historical Society Voluneer Meeting

  • When: 10 a.m. Saturday
  • Where: Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Have you ever wanted to volunteer for the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society? The group will be holding a meeting this week to discuss how to volunteer, whether you're looking for one-time opportunities to long-term commitments. Volunteers are currently needed to help plan the Apple Island Tours, Historic Home Tour and the Historical Society's 40th anniversary, which happens next year.

Kids: Detroit Children's Discovery Center

  • When: 4 p.m. Sunday
  • Where: West Bloomfield Township Public Library
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Have you ever wanted to join the Detroit Children's Discovery Center, which sponsors hands-on, interactive learning experiences for kids across Metro Detroit. Speaker: Nan Washburn at the JCC

  • When: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday
  • Where: Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: As part of a series of speakers, the Jewish Community Center of Metro Detroit will be hosting Nan Washburn Friday morning. Washburn is the music director and conductor for the Michigan Philharmonic.
