Weekend Weather: Gray Skies, Snow Possible

One inch of new snow could accumulate over Saturday night.

Those expecting to make a mad dash this weekend in an effort to finish holiday shopping, and those leaving town all together, would be wise to schedule some extra time on the roads this weekend, as the forecast calls for snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's a look at your weekend forecast.

Friday: The forecast calls for sunny skies, a high near 36 degrees and a northwest wind at 8-10 mph. After 12 midnight, the NWS calls for a 30 percent chance of snow showers with a low around 24.

Saturday: Expect gray skies and a light wind between 6-8 mph. The high will only reach 31 degrees, so bundle up the young ones if you're making a trip to Orchard Mall to see . The possibility of snowfall increases from 30 percent during the daytime to 60 percent at night, so be careful driving home from the . Accumulation of around one inch is possible, according to NWS.

Sunday: If the high reaches 38 degrees as NWS predicts, perhaps some of the snow will melt by Sunday. A northwest wind of 8-10 mph is predicted. The temperature will drop to 30 degrees at night.

Looking ahead to Monday, clouds will stay in the forecast, as the high is expected to climb to 40 degrees. Precipitation is expected.
