West Bloomfield Man Stabbed with Golf Club During Fight at Westwynd

Update: Glenn Steven Lott, 59, of Oakland Township was arraigned Friday afternoon in front of Judge Lisa Asadoorian of the 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills on one charge of felonious assault, a four-year felony. Bond was set at $100,000.00 no 10% allowed.

Lott is will appear in court again on June 11 at 10:30 a.m. in front of Judge Julie Nicholson of the 52-3 District Court.

Original Story: A 65-year-old West Bloomfield Township man had to run for his life Thursday afternoon, after another golfer attacked him on the 12th hole at Westwynd Golf Course on Adams Road in Oakland Township.

According to an Oakland County Sheriff's Department incident report, the two men were acquaintances and part of a foursome. Witnesses confirmed to deputies that the attacker, a 59-year-old Oakland Township man, broke a golf club over the West Bloomfield man's arm, then used the broken club to stab the injured arm, after the West Bloomfield man asked about a score on a previous hole. 

The report said that two other members of the foursome held the Oakland Township man down, while the West Bloomfield man drove toward the clubhouse in a golf cart. The Oakland Township man broke loose, drove away in a second golf cart, and left the area in his car before deputies arrived. 

The West Bloomfield man was treated at the scene and went on his own to an Urgent Care facility, where he received stitches. Deputies contacted the other man, but he refused to talk about the incident, the report said. 

According to the report, deputies found half the broken golf club, a Callaway 5 iron, on the golf course, and the other half in the Oakland Township man's golf bag. He may face a charge of Felonious Assault.
