West Bloomfield Runners Finish Brooksie Way
Local residents help raise funds for health and wellness mini-grants in the annual race.
More than 30 West Bloomfield residents were among the 4,237 finishers in today's fourth annual Brooksie Way Half-Marathon and 5k races, held today in Rochester.
The top local finisher was Allison Lustig, who finished 205th in the half marathon with a time of 1 hour, 39 minutes, 14 seconds. Anya Lev, 13, was the top finisher in the Girls 13 & Under Division and Alvin Michaels, 76, was the top finisher in the Men 75-79 Division.
Proceeds from the race will fund mini-grants that support health and wellness programs in Oakland County. The , son of county executive L. Brooks Patterson, who died in a snowmobile accident in February of 2007.
