What Are Your Plans This Weekend?

From an egg hunt to a middle school musical, there's plenty to do in West Bloomfield.

You've made it to Friday. Finally! All week long we've been providing ideas for what to do this week. Here are the best of the best.

Why go: The 20th annual "A Call to Wholeness" conference for women is scheduled for this weekend. Brenda Strausz, MA, LLP will be the keynote speaker offering an interactive presentation titled, "Live Your Magnificence."  There will also be two workshop sessions, a continental breakfast, lunch and a prize drawing. Everyone is welcome to attend and the cost is $40 per person. When: 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday

Why go: Orchard Lake Middle School's spring musical, Peter Pan, is opening on Friday night with a second show scheduled for Saturday. One performance in the split-cast show will be led by as the title character. Tickets are available for $10 over the phone (248-865-4480) or at the door if possible.

When: The event for children ages 1-6 begins at 6 p.m. sharp on Friday, while the event for children ages 6-11 begins at 8:30 p.m. sharp

Why go:  hosts its 16th annual spring fling egg hunt Friday evening in what has become a very popular event. Children interested in attending the flashlight egg hunt should remember to bring a flashlight in addition to a camera, a basket for goodies, and clothes fit for the weather as the event will go on even through the rain. 

Where: , 24915b Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Why go: Here's some outdoor family fun! This class will teach you how to identify and select a maple tree, collect sap, boil it down, and have wonderful syrup. You must register in advance, so call ahead at 248-477-1135 or visit fhgov.­com for more information. The cost is $8/per person and $25 per family.

When: 11 a.m. / 9 a.m. Saturday

Why go: Mom-to-mom sales are a great way to get slightly used clothing, toys, and big ticket items at deep discounted prices. The cost for that event is $1. At the camp fair, you will have an opportunity to sneak preview camps, meet camp instructors, participate in activities, and win cool stuff.
