What Time Are Christmas and Hanukkah Services?

Planning on heading to your place of worship this weekend in West Bloomfield? Here are the dates and times for various holiday services.

Christmas Eve is almost upon us, and churches throughout West Bloomfield will open their doors for special holiday services. In addition, many synagogues will celebrate Shabbat in addition to Hanukkah. Here's what you need to know:

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

  • Christmas Eve: Worship will take place at 6:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Worship will take place at 10:45 a.m.

  • Christmas Eve: Worship with Pastor Rev. Bill Matlack will take place at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: There is no worship service listed online.

  • Christmas Eve: Hear the story and sing your favorite carols with Pastor Rev. Charles Ferry at 9 a.m. worship.
  • Christmas Day: Divine service is at 9:30 a.m.

  • Christmas Eve: Candelight service will take place at 7:30 a.m.
  • Christmas Day: There is no service listed online.

  • Christmas Eve: Worship service with Holy Communion will take place at 12 noon and 10 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Due to lack of participation, it was voted on last November to not have Christmas Day service, and to worship twice the day prior instead.

  • Christmas Eve: Candlelight service will take place at 8 p.m., after a Nagy Harp and Flute duo prelude at 7:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Hear the story and sing your favorite carols at 9 a.m. worship.

  • Christmas Eve: Services take place at 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m., with a festival of carolers at 9:30 p.m. 
  • Christmas Day: Services take place at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 12 noon.

  • Christmas Eve: Services in English take place at 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Services in Chaldean take place at 10:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Services in Arabic are at 8 a.m., while services in English are at 10:30 a.m., and services in Chaldean are at 12:30 p.m.

Hanukkah and Shabbat

  • Friday: Kabbalat Shabbat takes place at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Shabbat Tisch takes place at 9:30 a.m., while services follow at 10:30 a.m.

  • Friday: Shabbat services take place at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: Shabbat services take place at 9:30 a.m., with a Kiddush following around 12 noon.
  • Sunday: A children's Hanukkah party takes place at 5 p.m. with a pizza dinner, animal show, and menorah lighting. The cost is $7 per child or $30 per family. The adult party starts at 6:30 p.m. and follows with game night. The cost is $10. For more information or to RSVP, click here.

  • Friday: Minyan takes places at 7 a.m.
  • Saturday: Morning service takes place at 9 a.m., while evening service starts at 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: Services take place at 9 a.m.

  • Friday: Shabbat service takes place at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: Shabbat Tish takes place at 9 a.m., with services following at 10:30 a.m.
  • Sunday: Sharing Circle takes place at 9 a.m., with Minyan service at 10 a.m.

  • Friday: Minyan services will take place at 6:45 a.m. Shabbat services will take place at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. 
  • Saturday: Shabbat services take place at 9:30 a.m. and 4:35 p.m.
  • Sunday: Daily services take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • Friday: takes places at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: Shabbat worship takes place at 11 a.m.

  • Friday: Kabbalat Shabbat service takes place at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: Shabbat serivces take place at 9 a.m.
  • Sunday: Morning Minyan is at 8:30 a.m., while Mincha is at 5 p.m.

  • Saturday: Shabbat service at 9 a.m., , 7 p.m.
