The Chamber Music Society of Detroit presents Piffaro, the nation’s finest Renaissance wind band, on Saturday, March 23 at 8:00 PM. Renowned for its polished performances as the "pied-pipers of early music," Piffaro’s ever-expanding instrumentation includes shawms, sackbuts, recorders, krumhorns, bagpipes, lutes, guitars, harps, and a variety of percussion — all careful reconstructions of instruments from the period.
The concert takes place at the Seligman Performing Arts Center, located at 22305 West 13 Mile Road (at the corner of Lahser and 13 Mile Roads), Beverly Hills, on the campus of Detroit Country Day School. Tickets $30 - $60; advance student tickets are available at half price; student rush tickets are $10. Purchase by phone at 248-855-6070 or online at www.ChamberMusicDetroit.org.
