OCBA Free Legal Aid Clinic at Lake Orion’s St. Joseph Catholic Church

Not everyone with a legal matter can afford to hire an attorney to get their questions answered. But on Tuesday evening, May 20, everyone can at a Free Legal Aid Clinic held from 4:30 pm to 7 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (715 North Lapeer Road, north of Indianwood) in Lake Orion.

The event is sponsored by the Oakland County Bar Association and funded through the Oakland County Bar Foundation to improve the accessibility and affordability of legal services.

Lawyers and other legal experts will be available to meet privately for one-on-one consultations to discuss individual’s specific legal questions.

The free clinic is designed to help educate the community on the different areas of law and assist in finding answers to legal questions pertaining to the individuals.

Volunteer attorneys will provide basic information, advice and counsel on several areas of law, including:

·Criminal Law

·Landlord Tenant

Although the event is free to attend, RSVPs are still welcomed (yet, not required) and can be made by calling the Oakland County Bar Association at 248-334-3400.

The Oakland County Bar, founded in 1934, has a long history of service to the legal profession and to the community. With approximately 3,100 members, the mission of the OCBA is to serve the professional needs of its members, improve the justice system and promote the delivery of quality legal services to the public.
