West Bloomfield High School Marching Band Invitational

WEST BLOOMFIELD LAKER INVITATIONAL IS THIS SATURDAY!
October 12, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. on the WBHS football field, the Marching Band will be hosting 6 bands for the Annual Marching Band Invitational.  Please come out and see some outstanding and very talented bands perform! Meet our Co-band directors, Mr. Chad Mielens and Mr. Karl Stein.    The bands attending are:  Ferndale, Flushing, Clarkston, Grand Blanc, Walled Lake Central and Lake Orion.  West Bloomfield will perform last in exhibition.

More about the WBHS Marching Band: The WBHS show is titled "Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky; arranged by Andrew Markworth. There are76 students in the marching band this year. The band started rehearsing at the beginning of August, and rehearsed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday until school started. However, the percussion and color guard started in mid-July. In August, they all attended an away camp for one week.  Once school began, the band rehearsed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. three days a week, and on show days. The band will perform at 5 home football games this year, as well as six MCBA competitions including the 2013 Laker Invitiational on October 12, 2013, and MCBA State Finals on November 2, at Ford Field.  There they will compete along with 48 marching bands from all over the State of Michigan.   Thank you!

Also, we would like to invite you to the Prism Concert this Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the WBHS auditorium.  It begins with the phenomenal sound of the Marching Band entering from the back of the auditorium, then moves on concert bands and choirs
