Detroit Lion Hosts NFL Kickoff Event in West Bloomfield

The event will support Stephen Tulloch's charity, which helps children throughout metro Detroit.

Detroit Lions starting middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch will host the 2nd Annual NFL Kickoff Event Oct. 18, at Happy’s Pizza and Pub, 7170 Orchard Lake Rd. in West Bloomfield.

The event will raise funds for The Stephen Tulloch Foundation’s Operation 55 program, which runs throughout the NFL (National Football League) season. From 7 p.m.-11 p.m., the event will feature complimentary food, drink specials, door prizes, a silent auction and live auction.

“My foundation and Operation 55 have grown over the years since I’ve been here in Detroit and helped more people than I ever could’ve imagined, it’s really cool to know that I’ve been put in a situation where I can help others,” said Tulloch. “Throughout the season we try to do as much as possible in the little time that I do have on off days or if we do get an extra day off. The fans in Detroit really love to support us and are the best fans I’ve ever seen so it’s only right to support them and the community here as much as possible.”

Operation 55 was launched in 2011 when Tulloch signed with the Detroit Lions, to help as many people as possible and give children throughout metro Detroit opportunities to come to Detroit Lions home games to experience a game day with Tulloch. He has taken more than 1,000 kids from various organizations to home games.

Tulloch also partnered with the Covenant House of Michigan, providing 55 kids with free dental services, and adopted families in Detroit for the holidays providing them with food, clothing and toys.

Tickets are available online at www.Tulloch55.com for $25 and can also be purchased at the door, as long as capacity allows. Last year, the event raised over $25,000 for Tulloch’s Operation 55 Program.
