Outrun Hunger Event Raises More Than $10,000

The third annual Grace Community Church Outrun Hunger event, held Nov. 2 near Commerce Township Hall, raised more than $10,000.

According to an event press release, nearly 260 people participated in the 5K run/walk and 1K fun run. All of the proceeds will go toward feeding more than 500 families this holiday season. 

"For us the goal is the same each year – to be a catalyst for ‘outrunning hunger’ in the Lakes Region of Southeast Michigan,” said Kari Cotter, event organizer.
