West Bloomfield 12-Year-Old Hosts Fundraising Concert

Axis Music Foundation, Project Daydream and the Jewish Community Center will all benefit from Griffin Siegel's June 18 event.

Griffin Siegel, a 12-year-old musician from West Bloomfield, will host a concert on June 18 to benefit the Axis Music Foundation, Project Daydream and the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit.

Held at Local Kitchen & Bar in Ferndale, the concert begins at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7:30 p.m.

In preparation for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah in August, Griffin decided to give  back to the community while doing something he is passionate about.

“My friends and I are putting on this concert to help underprivileged kids in the performing arts pay for their costs to participate,” said Siegel. “All three charities are using the proceeds this way.”

In addition to guitar and vocals performed by Griffin, teen musicians Jamie Trepeck, Sami Lofman, Ava Scott and Natalie Siegel will also perform.

Tickets can be reserved online at EventBrite.com (go to "Find Events" and search for Griffin) or are available at the door. General admission tickets are $10 for children, and $20 for adults.

Griffin is a 6th grader at West Hills Middle School. Local Kitchen & Bar is located at 344 West Nine Mile Road in Ferndale.
