The following information was provided by the West Bloomfield Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Highlights of reports Aug. 17-24:

Altercation with woman on Maple Road

A 36-year-old Commerce resident was arrested after an altercation with a driver on Maple Road about 1 a.m., Aug. 20, according to police Lt. Tim Diamond.

Diamond said the man was driving a white Lincoln Navigator northbound on Orchard Lake Road near Maple when he had a close encounter with a 26-year-old Farmington Hills woman. The man became irate, Diamond said, honking his horn and driving erratically with the intent of scaring the female driver. He followed her as she turned westbound on Maple and pulled alongside her when she stopped near the intersection of Maple and Maple Creek Boulevard.

Diamond said the man then threw handsful of ice and coins at her vehicle, with some hitting her through an open window.

Police officers accompanied by Oakland County Sheriff's deputies went to an address in Commerce and arrested the man who was given citations for malicious destruction of property, assault and battery, and reckless driving, Diamond said.

Starbucks manager finds anti-abortion graffiti

A manager arrived at work to find anti-abortion messages, such as "God loves your babies," scrawled with colored chalk on the parking lot, according to Diamond.

There are no suspects in the incident, which occured between 11 p.m. Aug. 19 and 5 a.m. Aug. 20.

Diamond believes the malicious mischief was directed at the women's center behind the coffee shop.
