The jury could start deliberations as early as Friday in the Highland murder trial of mother Ruth Pyne who was found dead in her Highland Township home last year. If convicted, her son Jeffrey Pyne, 22, faces life behind bars.
BLOOMFIELD: Police Investigate Possible Overdose Death in Bloomfield Township
The 29-year-old man's body was discovered at the Fox Hills Apartments.
A woman reported that her house on Scarborough Lane was broken into and the interior was spray painted with Asian racial slurs at the end of November, according to a Novi police report.
Canton Township Police were on patrol Nov. 30 at Palmer and Lilley when they stopped a vehicle traveling westbound with a burned-out driver’s side headlight, according to a police report.
When police made contact with the driver, an officer smelled what he believed to be marijuana, the report said, and saw a plate in the back seat with what appeared to be marijuana residue. When police searched the vehicle, an officer recovered what appeared to be a cell phone, the report said. However, the item actually was a scale with a false cover designed to look like a cell phone.
