Ex-West Bloomfield Officer Pleads Not Guilty To Ticket-Fixing

Jeffrey Pindzia, a 17-year veteran of the police department who resigned April 1, is due in circuit court June 7 for a pretrial hearing.

PONTIAC — A former West Bloomfield Township police officer and a Southfield man both charged in an on Monday both pled not guilty and both had a pretrial hearing set for June 7.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Leo Bowman heard the plea of Jeffrey Scott Pindzia, 38, of Canton Township, a 17-year West Bloomfield Police officer amid charges of misconduct in office and conspiracy to commit misconduct in office. Both are felonies punishable by up to five years in prison and fines up to $20,000.

Co-defendant Rudi S. Gammo, 31, is charged with conspiracy for allegedly aiding and abetting the scheme between Nov. 16 and Dec. 12, 2010. Both looked calm and matter-of-fact in front of a packed courtroom led by Bowman and Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Justin Davis as their pleas were read. Pindzia's attorney, Mitchell Ribitwer, said the next steps include seeking dismissal of the charges.
