Handgun Stolen from Car in West Bloomfield

The owner of a .40 caliber Glock reports it missing after a rash of vehicle break-ins between May 26 and 27.

A .40 caliber Glock handgun was among the items stolen from cars parked on West Bloomfield streets over the past week.

According to reports filed with the West Bloomfield Township Police Department, owners living on Essex Drive, Yorkshire Court and Palomino Court reported cash, a purse and other items missing. Lieutenant Tim Diamond said the gun was taken during a rash of incidents in a subdivision in the Walnut Lake and Halsted area, between May 26 and May 27.

Some vehicles were unlocked, Diamond said. Windows were smashed to gain entry to those that were locked. Some of the property has been recovered, he said.
