Larcenies, Home Invasions Reported to West Bloomfield Police

The West Bloomfield Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officials with the West Bloomfield Police Department investigated the following reports over the past week.

 

Home Invasions

5000 block of Oakbrook Drive: A resident found signs of forced entry into the lower level of the home on March 21. Jewelry valued at about $2,900 was reported stolen.

6400 block of Tamerlane: A resident reported that an intruder forced entry through the front door on March 21 and took property valued at about $600. The break-in occurred sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., reports said.

4000 block of Lagoons Circle: The homeowner told police he received a call from the alarm company indicating the home security system activated at about noon on March 22. He said he initially disregarded it as a false alarm, but found the doors to the home kicked in when returned later that afternoon, reports said. Nothing was reported stolen.

Larcenies

  • A resident in the 6000 block of Silverbrooke on March 22 reported that two rings and a fur coat were taken from her home within the past two months, reports said. The reportee said a 4.5-carat diamond wedding ring valued at about $2,000, and another ring valued at about $2,000 were missing. A fur coat valued at about $1,000 is also unaccounted for. The items were not insured, according to reports. The resident said they delayed reporting the missing property as stolen because of an illness in the family.
  • A resident in the 6400 block of Doherty reported that pairs of gold earrings valued at about $3,000 were taken from the dresser of their home bedroom on March 23. The reportee said two women contracted recently with a local cleaning company could be suspects. The investigation is open.
