Liquor, Shrimp and Electronics Stolen from Vehicles, CVS, Hospital Kitchen

The following information was provided by the West Bloomfield Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

reports from Nov. 30-Dec. 5 included 59 alarms, 40 crashes and 11 arrests. Among the highlights:

$2,800 worth of items stolen from vehicles

Two vehicles were broken into at the 7000 block of Dandison Boulevard between Saturday night and Sunday morning according to West Bloomfield Police Lt. Tim Diamond.

One vehicle was reported to be unlocked, while it was unknown if the other vehicle was left unlocked, Diamond said. Among the items stolen from the GMC Yukon and Chrysler Town & Country were sunglasses, a GPS unit, tools and a briefcase with a Dell laptop, Diamond noted. The approximate retail value of the stolen items is $2,800, Diamond aid. No one had been arrested yet.

Retail thefts continue

Recently and were among . This past week and the CVS Pharmacy at 4295 Orchard Lake Rd. reported incidents.

Four bottles of Dewar's White Label Scotch – each worth $22.95, totaling $91.80 in stolen liquor – were reported taken from CVS Pharmacy on Saturday, Diamond said.

Store video footage indicated the shoplifter was a male in his 40s, with a mustache, wearing a black jacket, Diamond said. The case is still under investigation.

"Stealing liquor is fairly frequent, especially this time of the year – for taking alcohol to parties," Diamond said. "Sales attendants are so busy with people this time of year there is more of an opportunity to go unnoticed."

At Henry Ford Hospital, two 20-pound boxes of shrimp worth $94 were reported stolen from the kitchen, Diamond said. Video footage from the incident, which occured between Nov. 26-27, was still being reviewed.
