Man arrested after fight at Library Pub

West Bloomfield police arrested a man Nov. 18 for punching a staffer at the Library Sports Pub and Grill after he was kicked out for being disorderly, Lt. Tim Diamond said.

The arrested man, a 35-year-old Canton resident, showed a blood alcohol content level "well over two times the legal limit" after a preliminary breath test, according to Diamond. He was charged with assault and battery and a disorderly person offense, Diamond added.

The man was removed from the bar by staff, Diamond explained, at about 8:22 p.m., but roamed the nearby property before attempting to get back in. When confronted by staff, Diamond said, the man punched a staffer in the head. The staffer was fine, Diamond added, and the man was wrestled to the ground for police.

Police responded to a break-in at an unoccupied home on the 6500 block of Crest Top when the home owner reported several items stolen Nov. 15, Diamond said.

The incident, reported to have occurred between Nov. 13-15, resulted in a Dell computer and golf clubs worth a combined $1,800 to be taken by unknown suspects, according to Diamond. The theft took place after unknown suspects defeated a lockbox on the front door door, Diamond said, or, they may have had the code for it.

The home is currently listed for sale, Diamond added.

Break-ins reported at neighbors' homes

Police responded to two calls of breaking and entering at two homes nearby each other this weekend, but it is unknown if any items were taken, according to Diamond.

A homeowner on the 6200 block of Golden reported the incident Nov. 13, to have occurred sometime between 5:30-9:30 p.m., he said. A similar incident was reported on the 6100 block of Golden, Diamond added.

The unknown suspects apparently used a lawn chair in the homeowner's yard to gain access to a rear window, according to Diamond, but may have heard the homeowner's alarm go off.
