Medical Marijuana Taken From West Bloomfield Vehicle

Police are investigating a number of thefts from vehicles that happened between Oct. 4 and Oct. 9.

West Bloomfield Police are investigating the theft of items taken from a vehicle in the 5000 block of South Piccadilly Circle sometime between Oct. 4 and 5, including $600 worth of medical marijuana.

According to Lieutenant Tim Diamond, the marijuana was stored in a fireproof safe in the back of the vehicle. Also taken were 45 gold dollar coins, two tailor-made golf clubs valued at $725, a $250 iPod and a $300 iPhone.

Three pairs of sunglasses, a GPS (global positioning system) unit and an iPhone were taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 4000 block of Welland sometime between Oct. 5 and 6, Diamond said. "The vehicle was most likely unlocked," he added.

Two vehicles were attacked Oct. 5, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., at Drake Sports Park. Diamond said windows were shattered on both vehicles; items taken included purses and a wallet.

A resident who was at the Jewish Community Center, Drake and Maple, on Oct. 6 reported three prescription medications–Tylenol 4, valium and a thyroid medication–taken during a vehicle break-in. Diamond said that incident happened between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

One resident discovered items had been taken from her vehicle after Orchard Lake Police called to tell her they had suspects in custody who had her credit cards. Diamond said the theft occurred sometime between Oct. 8 and 9, and the woman thought she locked her vehicle.

In addition to the credit cards, $200 in cash, a $500 purse, $500 in gift cards and a $200 gold bracelet were taken. Diamond said the report didn't indicate whether those items were also recovered.
