Orchard Lake Man to Stand Trial in Sleeping Bear Dunes Incident

Daniel Gerard Elliott faces a charge of domestic violence.

An Orchard Lake man will go on trial in Petoskey this month, after he and his children were the subject of a 12-hour search in and around Sleeping Bear Dunes in late August.

According to The Oakland PressDaniel Gerard Elliott, 50, faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. In August, Emmett County Sheriff Peter Wallin told the Detroit Free Press that Elliott's wife said he forced her out of the family vehicle and drove off with the couple's three children, ages 14, 10 and 9.
