UPDATE: Tapper's Offers Reward for Stolen Rolex

Tapper's Jewelry Store was robbed of a Presidential watch Feb. 26 around 5 p.m.

The needs help to find a man suspected of retail fraud involving a $29,000 Rolex watch.

The watch, a Rolex Presidential, yellow/gold in color and featuring a round, black, wave dial, was taken from  in Orchard Mall on Feb. 26 around 5 p.m., according to police reports.

Owner Steven Tapper said that a reward of $1,500 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect had been trying on various watches when he suddenly fled with the watch, Lt. Tim Diamond said. Tapper said that no one was injured and that business continued as usual for the longtime West Bloomfield retailer.

"We have fingerprints that we believe are accurate and we need help to find this individual," Tapper said.

The suspect is described as a male, around 35 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds and “heavy” with “fat hands.” He wore a short, brimmed hat, a bulky vest, dark jeans and brown boots.
