Police Respond to Assault at Japanese Steakhouse

Woman assaulted, refuses charges
Dinner at was interrupted when a 24-year-old female Troy resident was assaulted by a former acquaintance, according to West Bloomfield Police Lt. Tim Diamond. The incident, which occurred about 1:05 a.m. Sunday, began when the victim, who was dining with a friend, came into contact accidentally with her former acquaintance, a 33-year-old male Bloomfield Hills resident, Diamond said Tuesday. The victim said the two had had arguments and incidents in the past, Diamond added.
Diamond said the victim got up to leave her seated position and was shoved to the ground by the man. The victim reported that two other men began stomping on her and that she was punched on the left cheek, Diamond said.

However, when the police came, the victim chose not to press charges. The man denied ever knowing the victim and was very evasive during questioning, Diamond said, adding that the victim refused medical attention and that everyone involved was advised. No arrests were made.
Powerhouse Gym locker looted
A 44-year-old female Troy resident worked out for one hour Monday at and returned to her locker to find her purse missing, Diamond said. The green purse, which was taken between 6:45-7:45 p.m., contained a cell phone, credit cards, checkbooks and $72 in cash, Diamond said. The woman said her locker was locked when she returned to it after her workout.

Police are investigating the larceny.
