Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Oct. 23-29 included 77 alarms, 28 crashes and nine arrests. Among the highlights:

Wedding gifts stolen after reception

An Oct. 4 wedding took a turn for the worse as residents of a home on the 7000 block of Windgate Circle reported gifts stolen, according to Lt. Tim Diamond.

The three gifts — two cash envelopes and one envelope with a check made out to cash — totaled $2,200 for the couple, Diamond said. He continued that sometime in between 5 p.m. Oct. 4 and 12 p.m. Oct. 5, the gifts went missing from the home of the groom's mother. Police are investigating.

Car window damaged by BB gun as part of possible spree

Police are investigating reports of an unknown suspect who may have broken into several vehicles overnight between Oct. 22-23, according to Diamond.

A 2007 Cadillac parked in the driveway of a home on the 6000 block of W. Norma Lee Dr. was reported to have its front and rear passenger side windows damaged with BBs recovered at the scene, Diamond said. Several other vehicles in the area were also broken into that night, Diamond added, with various small electronics and personal items among those taken.

Flea and tick medication stolen en masse

Police are investigating two reported thefts of Frontline flea and tick medication for animals from PetSmart, according to Diamond.

The first theft was reported between 3-4 p.m. Oct. 24, Diamond said, when shoplifters allegedly made off with six boxes worth $230 retail. Diamond added that a second theft was reported Oct. 29, mirroring the previous incident as well as another similar incident at a PetSmart store in Commerce.

Police are investigating, while PetSmart management has become more vigilant in protecting the stock, Diamond said.
