Strong-Arm Robbery Suspect Nabbed Without Incident

Photos taken from surveillance video were distributed to media, which led to the apprehension of suspect in West Bloomfield Township bank robbery.

A suspect in a Wednesday afternoon strong-arm robbery at a West Bloomfield Township bank was arrested without incident in Detroit Thursday, police said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, reportedly walked into the Bank of America, 6400 Orchard Lake Road about 4:45 p.m. and got away with an undiscolosed amount of cash.

Video surveillance of the suspect was distributed to media outlets by West Bloomfield detectives, and that led to the man’s arrest.

Detectives from the South Oakland Narcot Intelligence Consortium (SONIC), which includes the jurisdictions of West Bloomfield, Farmington and Novi, located the suspect in Detroit.

The investigation is ongoing.
