Kids with Toy Guns Picked up by Police at School

A 12-year-old and a 13-year-old from West Bloomfield were turned over to their parents without incident.

Two West Bloomfield juveniles seen at Walled Lake Central High School toting toy guns on Tuesday were picked up and released without incident by police.

A 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were taken into custody by Oakland County Sheriffs deputies around 12:34 p.m. Wednesday after being reported carrying an M-16 rifle replica and a semi-automatic handgun replica.

The juveniles were taken to the Commerce substation were they turned over to their parents. No criminal action will be taken and the juveniles were advised about their decision-making, according to a report from Undersheriff Mike McCabe.
