Thieves Take Thousands in Jewelry from West Bloomfield Home

The homeowners tell police they may have interrupted the crime when they returned home Wednesday.

A resident in the 3000 block of Bloomfield Park Drive called West Bloomfield Township Police Wednesday evening, after returning to find someone had broken in to the home.

Lieutenant Tim Diamond said the homeowners believe they may have interrupted the crime. They found a bag of jewelry in the master bedroom and noticed the bathroom had been ransacked.

The thieves got in by going through an unlocked pedestrian garage door and then through an unlocked door into the home. The homeowners continue to inventory what was stolen, but know $2,000-$3,000 in jewelry is missing. The case remains under investigation, Diamond said.
