Thieves Take Tools from West Bloomfield Homes Under Construction

More than $10,000 in tools, tiles and other items were taken last weekend.

Thieves hit two homes under construction in West Bloomfield Township last weekend, taking tools and other items valued at more than $10,000, according to West Bloomfield Township Police

Lieutenant Tim Diamond said the homes in the 3000 block of Legacy Court and the 4000 block of Cove Road were unoccupied, and workers discovered the break-ins on Monday morning.

On Legacy Court, a locked, steel pedestrian door inside the garage was pried open. Items taken there included three pneumatic nail guns, a compressor, a level, a vibrating sander, two hammer impact drills and granite floor tiles valued at $6,000, Diamond said.

It's unclear how the home on Cove Road was entered, but once inside, the thief or thieves took three dehumidifiers, two tile saws, two compound mitre saws and two brad nailers.
