Vehicle Owners Report Thefts in West Bloomfield

Items taken over the past two weeks include a laptop computer, cash and jewelry.

The owner of a vehicle parked all day at Shenandoah Country Club on Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield Dec. 3 contacted township police after his briefcase had been taken.

Lieutenant Tim Diamond said the man told police a valet parked his vehicle, which was left unlocked. When the man returned home late that night, he discovered the theft. The briefcase contained a Macbook laptop computer, valued at $1,000, $23 in cash and credit cards.

These vehicle-related thefts were also reported over the past two weeks:

  • The owner of a gold, 2006 Chevrolet Suburban contacted police Nov. 29, after his vehicle was stolen from the Plum Market parking lot on Orchard Lake Road. Diamond said the owner took his keys when he parked the vehicle at 4:30 p.m. He left the area in a friend's vehicle, and the Suburban was gone when he returned at 6:30 p.m.
  • A man who worked out Nov. 25 at The Sports Club on Farmington Road contacted township police after finding a ring missing from his vehicle. Diamond said the man parked his vehicle in the gym lot between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and discovered his ring, valued at $1,600, had been stolen. Police found no damage to the vehicle; a possible suspect was identified from security tapes.
