West Bloomfield Homeowner Reports $43K Theft

Township police are investigating thefts and break-ins that netted jewelry, purses and more.

A West Bloomfield Township resident contacted police Sept. 26, to report $43,000 worth of items had been stolen from her home in late July and August.

Lieutenant Tim Diamond said the items taken from the home in the 6000 block of Runnymeade Court included purses and jewelry. The homeowner said service workers had been in and out of the home during the time the items disappeared. 

Home invasions

A resident in the 5000 block of Swan Lake contacted police after returning home Oct. 3 at around 4:30 p.m., to find a glass sunroom door smashed. Diamond said whoever broke in didn't get any farther than the sunroom. 

Jewelry, cameras and a box of checks were taken from a home in the 2000 block of Birch sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 26. Diamond said the homeowner found a door from the garage to the house open.
