West Bloomfield Man Named in Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Jason Rosenbaum and two others are being sued over the disappearance of Indian University student Lauren Spierer.

A 23-year-old West Bloomfield entrepreneur has been named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of a young woman who disappeared from Indiana University's Bloomington campus two years ago.

According to a Sunday article in The Oakland Press, Indiana authorities consider Jason Rosenbaum "a key 'person of interest' ... in the disappearance of Indiana University (IU) student, Lauren Spierer, who vanished from the school's Bloomington campus in the early morning hours of June 3, 2011." The lawsuit names Rosenbaum and two other IU students as the last three people to see Spierer alive, according to the report.

Attorneys for Rosenbaum and his co-defendants filed last month to have the lawsuit dismissed, and Rosenbaum's attorney told The Oakland Press that his client has fully cooperated with police.

In a 2012 West Bloomfield Patch profile, Rosenbaum and his business partner David Bleznak discussed their mobile video game, which is based entirely around Living Essentials' 5-Hour Energy shots.
