How many people did West Bloomfield Township Police lock up in 2013? How many guns were registered last year?

The answers to those question and more information about last year's police activities are available in the department's 4th quarter report, which trustees accepted Monday. The document also included annual figures for police and dispatch activity. 

Here are some of the numbers in the report:

  • 3 - Number of new officers hired
  • 281 - Number of people lodged in the local lock-up 
  • 1,826 - Number of guns registered by township police
  • 4,940 - Number of preliminary breath tests administered to suspected drunken drivers 
  • 13,732 - Number of Part I (serious, violent), Part II (non-violent) and Part III (juvenile, traffic, animal, watercraft and miscellaneous) crimes reported
  • 26,514 - Number of 911 calls
  • 83,988 - Number of administrative calls
