Herman Cain Touts 'Young Man' in State House Race; Plans Visit in Town

Fundraiser for State House candidate Brad Hantler planned Wednesday in West Bloomfield's 39th district.

Former Republican presidential candidate and Tea Party activist Herman Cain will be in West Bloomfield this week to support State House candidate Brad Hantler, running for the open seat in the 39th district.

Cain, an Atlanta native who has been busy preparing to launch his own television channel in recent months after dropping his campaign late last year, said that he became familiar with Hantler's campaign through his call for Michigan to move to a part-time legislature.

Hantler's op-ed on the subject originally appeared in the The Oakland Press in June and was picked up by the popular conservative website, Real Clear Politics policy page.

Cain will visit  in West Bloomfield Wednesday night.  Pizza and soft drinks will be provided starting at 7 p.m., and admission is $9.99, in honor of Cain’s well-known tax code replacement plan.

"Brad Hantler represents the young, bold brand of conservatism we need in government today," Cain wrote in a release. "Here is a young man who not only picked up on an issue that illustrates how damaging the status quo in government can be if we let it, but he went further by advocating bold change to the status quo."
