Sen. John McCain to Stump For Romney, Red Cross in Bloomfield Hills

The former presidential candidate is the latest Romney campaign surrogate to visit Michigan in hopes of winning the state on Nov. 6 for the Bloomfield Hills native.

Former Republican Party presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., will visit Bloomfield Hills tonight to help rally support for current presidential challenger Mitt Romney and raise funds for victims of Superstorm Sandy.

McCain is expected to arrive at the Oakland County Republican Party Headquarters at 426111 Woodward Ave., at about 6:15 p.m., according to an invite issued by the Romney campaign.

Bloomfield Township resident Pamela Williams, vice-chair of the county party, said the visit coincides with a campaign-volunteer appreciation event and a collection effort for supplies and resources to help storm victims on the East Coast.

"Just like the hurricane, John McCain believes it is time for the economic storm to be over and rebuilding to begin," said Williams, who is also a member of the Bloomfield Township Public Library Board of Trustees.

McCain's stop is also the latest in a string of recent high-profile visits to Bloomfield and Oakland County as the Romney campaign tries to capture every possible vote on Nov. 6. The list includes Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Ann Romney and Laura Bush.

"The polls are really showing a very tight race in Michigan, so any way to encourage those undecided voters is a plus," Williams said.

Mitt and Ann Romney both grew up in Bloomfield Hills and attended Cranbrook.

Why would Michigan want to hear from McCain? McCain was against the auto bailout and is a known racist

Ron, that's hogwash, period... That said, this election isn't about McCain... It's about the sad state of affairs we are in both domestically and internationally... Obama has blown it on both fronts, and we are not better off than we were four years ago... Not even close... Few good jobs, weak economic growth (2%), and if you're lucky to have a job, wages are down... The price of everything we buy is up... Gas has doubled in price... Now we have this Benghazi tragedy/disgrace/coverup going on, and it's heartbreaking and infuriating all at once... I think too much of the nation has forgotten about these four murdered American's... Obama is ignoring the issue, hiding behind the "ongoing investigation" mantra... It's a load of dung... He's swept it under the rug, and hopes to keep it there until after the election... I want the truth to come out now... Every voter needs to read this excellent article... Very well worth your time... http://spectator.org/archives/2012/11/01/benghazi-obamas-core-deceit/ These aren't bad either... http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50657 http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/10/25/CBS-Busts-Obama--and-Itself-Hidden-60-Minutes-Clip-Proves-White-House-Lied-About-Benghazi It's just not about jobs and the economy... It's about trust, honesty, and credibility at the top... Romney/Ryan 2012

If ever we needed a change, it is now... Obama said in 2008 that if he didn't get the job done in four years, that it would be a one term deal... Well, he didn't get the job done, so lets hold to that one promise... http://www.factcheck.org/2012/06/obamas-outsourcer-overreach/ http://obamalies.net/list-of-obamas-failures http://blog.heritage.org/2012/10/18/president-obamas-taxpayer-backed-green-energy-failures/ http://lacrossetribune.com/news/opinion/patti-schmidt-list-of-obama-s-failures-is-long/article_7a139146-fec2-11e1-8e81-0019bb2963f4.html http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/08/obamas-foreign-policy-failures-catalogued.php http://www.facebook.com/notes/republican-security-council/the-top-10-obama-flip-flops-by-ari-fleischer/171275079638338 http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100083104/the-u-turn-president-barack-obama-top-ten-flip-flops/
