West Bloomfield High School students will take their turn in questioning the hopefuls next week.

Candidates for the West Bloomfield School District Board of Education have been asked to participate in a second forum, this time one moderated by students from the

Questions for the forum, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at West Bloomfield High School, will be generated by students and approved by Principal Tom Shelton and the sponsoring teachers from the high school's Law Club and Political Leadership classes.

"The students' staff sponsors Alycia Chase and Katherine Law, along with Tom Shelton, are committed to making this an experience that is fair and equitable to all involved. Additionally, it is sure to be an educational experience for the students as well," district spokesperson Pam Zajac wrote in an email Tuesday.

Audience members may submit questions that may be chosen to be asked at a question-and-answer segment near the end of the forum.

The general rules of the forum will be the same as those identified in the Oct. 5. A panel of three students will moderate the forum.

"The questions will be centered around issues that are of general interest or importance to students," according to an email written by students associated with those classes that was sent to school board candidates last week.

Five of the six candidates for the school board participated in the Oct. 5 forum; Carol Finkelstein was absent due to a previous engagement. To watch the previous candidates forum, visit civiccentertv.com.
