Henry Ford Offers Seminar on K2, Spice, Synthetic Drugs

Child and adolescent psychiatry fellow Brooke Weingarden, D. O. is the guest speaker for this community seminar. She will be joined by Henry Ford behavioral health and chemical dependency specialists who will answer participant’s questions about synthetic drug use and treatment options.

Panel experts include discussion facilitator Doree Ann V. Espiritu, M.D., service chief of psychiatry at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Kelly Rogalski, M.D., medical director, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at Henry Ford Medical Center – Columbus and Robin Walsh, MA, LLP, CAADC, an adolescent therapist at Henry Ford Maplegrove Center.

High-potency synthetic drugs like K2 are known to cause a dangerous increase in user’s heart rate and blood pressure, and have been linked to unusual violent behavior and even death.
