School Board to Consider MEAP Results, Elementary School Transition Plan

The West Bloomfield Board of Education will take a hard look at the district's 2012 MEAP results Monday night during their regular meeting.

MEAP Results

On Monday, school board members will evaluate West Bloomfield 2012 MEAP results. Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Robert Martin will present.

Student scores dropped in several areas on the 2012 MEAP test, with science and math scores seeing big drops. For more, visit West Bloomfield's 2012 MEAP Results Show Overall Drops.

Continuous School Improvement

Martin will also update the board on the district's continuous school improvement efforts, specifically at Abbott Middle School and Roosevelt Elementary. The principals of both schools will speak.

Elementary School Reconfiguration

As part of West Bloomfield's reconfiguration of its elementary school facilities, the district's Instructional Reconfiguration Team will present a series of recommendations to the school board. These reccomendations include plans for re-allocating resources and a school-wide visitation this spring.

As part of the district's elementary school reconfiguration plan, Ealy Elementary will close this fall, while Doherty Elementary will offer grades K-2 and Sheiko Elementary will offer grades 3-5.
