Michigan Student Festival Features West Bloomfield High Students' Film

Adam and Daniel Cooper's 'The Case of Amber Gram' shows at The Detroit Film Theatre April 27.

The short film, "The Case of Amber Gram", produced by twin filmmakers and West Bloomfield High students Adam and Daniel Cooper, will be featured Saturday during the 44th Michigan Student Film & Video Festival April 27, at The Detroit Film Theatre.

Daniel has been accepted at the New York University's Tish Film School, and Adam will attend Columbia College in Chicago.

Festival admission is free, and the film will be screened with winners in grades 9-12 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Festival provides a public venue for the work of Michigan students in grades K-12, as well as giving recognition and significant awards to young media artists.

Past winners have won Oscars, been selected for the Sundance Film Festival Writers Workshop, and Dan Scanlon of Clawson is the director of this summer’s Monsters University from Pixar.

Event co-sponsor is The Detroit Film Theatre at the Detroit Institute of Arts; additional support comes from The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
