Walled Lake Schools Art Teacher Earns National Recognition

Brandy Carlson earns recognition from a national online kids' art gallery.

Brandy Carlson, a Walled Lake Consolidated School District art teacher, has been recognized by Artsonia, the world’s largest online kids' art museum, for outstanding leadership in the area of Arts Education.  

Carlson teaches at Loon Lake Elementary; the school's online art gallery, www.artsonia.com/schools/LoonLake2, ranks sixth in the state.
 
Artsonia’s Annual Leadership Award is an honor extended to teachers from only 10 schools per state across the United States. The award also recognizes significant achievement in the area of technology integration within the school arts program.
 
During the 2012-2013 school year, the Loon Lake Elementary gallery showcased 4,430 pieces of artwork. That artwork was visited more than 46,827 times and has received 180 comments from friends and families.
