Walled Lake Student Wins Harvard Study Scholarship

Oten Iban, a senior at Walled Lake Northern High School, took college level classes at Harvard University this past summer, as the recipient of a Joyce Ivy Foundation Scholarship.

Iban studied international relations and principles of economics. The daughter of Ima and Enene Iban, she plans to pursue a career in biomedical engineering or law and hopes to study at an Ivy League school or the University of Michigan.
 
The Joyce Ivy Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to broadening the college aspirations of talented female high school students. Applicants are chosen based on exceptional academic achievement, demonstrated commitment to pursuit of rigorous undergraduate programs, service to community, and extracurricular activities.
