West Bloomfield Closes Schools Friday

The district cites a wind chill advisory and hazardous road conditions.

West Bloomfield School District announced late Thursday night that schools will be closed on Friday.

In a statement, the district cited "a combination of hazardous road conditions due to ice and drifting snow combined with a wind chill advisory issued by the National Weather Service". Classes had also been cancelled Thursday.

The National Weather Service issued the wind chill advisory Thursday afternoon. Temperatures as low as 10 degrees, combined with winds at 10-15 miles per hour, are expected to result in wind chills in the range of 17-23 degrees below zero.
