West Bloomfield High Senior Wins Citizenship Award

Emily Hubbard is honored by the Piety Hill chapter of the DAR.

Emily Hubbard, a senior at West Bloomfield High School, has earned a "Good Citizen Award" from the Piety Hill chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). 

Awards went to high school seniors, in public or private schools, who exemplify the qualities of a good citizen: dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

Emily was honored for her essay on the topic, “Our American Heritage and our responsibility for improving it.” She is now entered in state-wide competition.

Each school winner received a monetary award, a U.S. flag that had been flown over the Capitol, a book on the Revolutionary War, a Good Citizen certificate and a recognition pin. The awards presentation was held Dec. 10 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library.
