West Bloomfield Resident Chosen to Lead Walled Lake School Board

West Bloomfield resident Greg Janicki has been elected to lead the Walled Lake Consolidated School District Board of Education for 2014. 

Trustees elected new officers during their Jan. 9 meeting; Janicki replaces Peggy Casagrande. Other officers are: 

• Denise Bither, Vice President
• Nancy van Leuwen, Treasurer
• Kathy Lyall, Secretary

Casagrande, Marc Siegler and Chris Titus will continue serving as trustees.

School board members serve six-year terms, attending monthly meetings and many District events.

“They give tirelessly of their time and energy to Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Mostly, they care about our students, staff, community and everyone we serve,” said Kenneth Gutman, superintendent. 

In honor of Board of Education Recognition Month in January, officials were presented with a proclamation and a basket of spirit wear and gifts, one from each of the 19 schools and district departments.
