What's Happening with the Twin Beach, Maple Properties?
School officials say they are preparing the West Bloomfield properties for sale.
Closed at the end of the 2011-2012 school year, Twin Beach Elementary School on Oakley Park Road and Maple Elementary on Maple Road in West Bloomfield have been demolished, and neighbors are wondering what will happen next.
Patch asked Walled Lake Consolidated Schools officials about plans for the properties. The district's director of community relations and marketing Judy Evola said that both school sites have been cleared, grass seed has been planted, and the district "is in the process of soliciting proposals to sell" both properties.
"Walled Lake Schools appreciates the patience of the ... neighborhood(s) in the transition," she said.
