Winter Weather Closes West Bloomfield Schools Thursday
Heavy snowfall gives students an extra day of winter vacation.
West Bloomfield school kids are getting an extra day of winter vacation, as the district cancelled classes Thursday.
As much as 5 inches of snow has fallen across metro Detroit over the past 24 hours, and light snow is expected to continue through the morning, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory remains in effect through noon, with an additional 1-2 inches expected.
Berkley, Ferndale, Royal Oak and Lake Orion also closed schools today.
