Beaumont, Troy Cancer Center Hosts Golf Fundraiser

It’s time to tee off against cancer to benefit patient programs at Beaumont Hospital,Troy.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Wilson Cancer Resource Center golf and tennis event, “A Round for Life," Monday, July 11. Mark your calendar for this annual event at in West Bloomfield Township.

The day features a four-person scramble including 18 holes of golf with a power cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner with open bar. Participants enjoy full use of all club facilities including the swimming pool, driving range, putting green, tennis courts and locker rooms. Free golf clinics with the club pros are available throughout the day. Shotgun starts are scheduled for 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The cost is $470 per golfer. Sponsorships are available starting at $2,500, including the opportunity to golf in the event.

The event also features tennis, including use of the tennis courts, locker rooms and pool as well as breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day. The cost for a tennis player is $100. Sponsorships start at $1,250.

The Wilson Cancer Resource Center is a single resource for cancer patients that assists with appointment scheduling and provides educational resources, counseling and emotional support. Services coordinated through the center include testing, surgery, medical and radiation oncology, plastic surgery, hospice care and home care.

Beaumont’s comprehensive cancer program combines the expertise of the Beaumont Health System with the knowledge and experience of physicians in the Beaumont Oncology Network, the largest group of oncology specialists in the state, to offer cancer prevention counseling, diagnosis and treatment in hospital and community-based settings. The Beaumont Cancer Institute is one of only 47 Community Clinical Oncology Programs in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute to provide patients with access to leading-edge cancer clinical research trials. Beaumont is designated as a Blue Cross Center of Distinction for the Treatment of Rare and Complex Cancers.
