Fresh from the Sochi Olympics, Gold Medalists Skate off on Media Blitz (Video)

Olympic gold medal figure skaters Meryl Davis and Charlie White joked on NBC’s “Today Show” that they may spend some time in Hawaii and are unsure if they’ll take part in the world championships in Japan next month, the Detroit News reports.

Meryl Davis of West Bloomfield and Charlie White of Bloomfield Hills won the gold medal in ice dancing and the bronze as part of the Team USA figure skating team in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

Fresh off a plane from Sochi, they’re doing a media blitz around New York City before heading home to southeast Michigan, where both are students at the University of Michigan. They also plan appearances on “The Colbert Report,” “Katie” and “Morning Joe.”

Although their plans are uncertain, they did say on the “Today Show” that they’ll be part of the Stars on Ice tour, which will stop at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena on April 27. Tickets are already available, starting at $30.
